With the spread of COVID-19 and increasing numbers of government orders to stay put, many of us are at home with some time on our hands. This is a good opportunity to invest in yourself and learn a few new skills or expose yourself to some aspects of the industry that you may not be familiar with.
To help you make the most of your time at home, we’ve compiled a list of resources, books and online courses that provide invaluable information on the world of marketing.
Free Online Learning
Hubspot Academy: HubSpot, the company that popularized inbound marketing and is known for its integrated marketing platform, also has a host of Academy courses that focus on inbound and content marketing.
Buffer: The social media platform provides educational content about social media marketing. They also compiled a great list of specific marketing courses from other sources (like HubSpot, Coursera and more) that have been vetted and recommended by their staff.
Neil Patel Blog: Best known for expertise on SEO, Neil Patel’s blog is chocked full of guides and videos that help you navigate the world of online marketing and ecommerce.
Coursera: You can learn about nearly any industry on Coursera, which provides online courses by universities and companies. For marketing courses, simply search “marketing” and browse through the available courses. You can audit courses for free, or you can purchase a Certificate, which gives you access to all the course materials including graded assignments. EdX has a similar setup but offers courses from different universities.
Paid Online Learning
LinkedIn Learning: LinkedIn’s educational branch has acquired Lynda.com, a well-known online learning and professional development site. Here you can learn anything from how to have difficult conversations with your team to how to spam-proof your Google Analytics account. An account gives you access to all the courses (more than 15,000), all taught by experts in their respective fields.
